CELEBRATING 2023

A MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR, JOE BRUNO

In true BCE fashion, the final quarter of 2023 has been actioned-packed. In October we were excited to welcome two strong additions to our team.

Alex Kernot joined our leadership team in the role of Associate. Alex has a strong history with the director’s group and has worked on a number of prestigious structural projects across Melbourne during his time at Cardno, Irwinconsult & WSP.

Gabriella Liberta has also joined the team as Operations Assistant. Gabi has extensive administrative experience and has been a tremendous help in running the day-to-day operations of the business. Having strong administration support has been critical to growing and maintaining our business and allowing our engineers and draftspeople to do what they do best.

We have been fortunate to work on some fantastic projects this year, from exciting high-profile restaurants, to large scale retail, residential & commercial developments, educational, sports & leisure, health care and industrial developments. We recognise that none of this is possible without the faith of our clients, and we sincerely thank you all for your continued support of our business.

Throughout our growth, we never want to lose sight of the importance of our people. Our monthly team lunches are an invaluable opportunity to catch-up and celebrate the individual achievements of our team members. This year we have been proud to celebrate many achievements within the group. As the year draws to a close, we would like to express our gratitude to the entire BCE team, who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to ensure we reach our project goals.

We have exciting news and milestones to celebrate in 2024, but for now, a huge thank you to all our colleagues and clients who have made 2023 such a successful year.

On behalf of the entire BCE Directors Group and Staff, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

See you in the New Year!

PROMOTIONS AND NEW FACES IN 2023

This year we have welcomed 6 new employees to the BCE Team.

Will Lingard – Senior BIM Coordinator
Charbel Tawk – Senior Engineer
Mitchell Day – Senior BIM Modeller
Rithy Choeung – Design Engineer
Alex Kernot – Associate
Gabriella Liberta – Operations Assistant

We also celebrated the promotion of Vasillios Kourtessis to ‘Project Engineer – Civil’ in October. Vasilios has been with BCE since 2019 and this promotion was well-deserved recognition of his hard work and coincides with extensive training in Autodesk Civil 3D design and modelling software.

Autodesk Civil 3D software enables BCE Design to design and model complex civil infrastructure projects, providing advanced design automation and ensure comprehensive project collaboration & coordination protocols and procedures. Congratulations Vasili!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The BCE Office will be closed from Thursday 21st of December 2023 and reopen on Wednesday the 10th of January 2024.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR, JOE BRUNO

It has been an exciting 2 years at BCE Design.

In late 2021, the new board of directors set out to become a point of difference in the professional engineering industry. Our main objective wasn’t radical. We simply wished to build a reputation for providing exceptional service and engineering solutions to our clients.

In recent years our industry has seen a change in how we approach projects. The desire to work with hands-on Directors who hold autonomy to make important decisions, is stronger than ever. In these challenging economic times, our clients require highly experienced senior engineers who understand the importance of meeting project scope & budget. Of course, clever solutions mean nothing if we can’t meet project deadlines. At BCE one of our main objectives is hitting the required deliverables, as we understand the constraints of tight project turnarounds.

Ensuring we have the right people, in the right roles is of high importance to our business. As any effective manager will tell you, we are nothing without a strong team around us. The addition of Michael Dean in an Associate role last August has been extremely positive for our group. Michael’s 10+ years of experience has seen him work on a diverse range of projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and educational building sectors in Australia. Michael leads his projects with confidence and has quickly become a key pillar in our organisational management. His contribution has proven to be invaluable to
myself and Mark Paterson as we continue to expand our structural group.

Daniel Herbert has become our dedicated Civil leader and his appointment to this new role has seen the growth of our civil discipline excel over the 12 months. Daniel has extensive experience with stormwater drainage, Water Sensitive Urban Design, Earthworks and liaison with local government to ensure the desired project outcomes are reached.

Resourcing on all our projects is paramount to ensure our services aren’t compromised on deliverables or milestones. Our team continues to grow, and our relocation to Level 1, 383 Smith Street, Fitzroy, has provided the much-needed space required to allow opportunity for team collaboration and better servicing of our projects.

As a group we are feeling energised and excited as we look ahead to the final quarter of 2023 and beyond.
